Autograph letter signed, dated : Leipzig, 13 February 1855, to Josephine Köstlin, née Lang, 1855 Feb. 13.

Saying he has twice asked Kistner if her songs in manuscript had arrived, that he just found out to his annoyance that they had been returned without his having seen them, adding that it is comforting to know that even works of exceptional worth are not accepted by that house, discussing at some length why publishers will and will not accept certain works, observing that their sale does not always reflect their worth, adding that Kistner had even rejected some works of the very talented Wüllner that Moscheles had recommended, mentioning Prof. Stieler, etc.
